Rouen Hosts Successful First LabFact Launch Event and Training Event on Flow Chemistry

The University of Rouen and CNRS successfully hosted the Launch Meeting for LabFact on 21-22 May in Rouen.  With a focus on Flow Chemistry, the event attracted 115 delegates from the French(Channel)England region and beyond.

The meeting was opened by Mr Lamri AMDOUI, the President of Normandy University, andMrs Christine BRUNEL, the Head of the CNRS Normandy Regional Delegation.  The scientific sessions followed, with a mix of academic and industrial speakers.  These included 6 Keynote Lectures and 12 Short Communications. Industry representatives had the opportunity to showcase their wares and increase their visibility within the French (Channel) England region.  Lunch, refreshment breaks and the conference dinner provided opportunities for networking and cementing links between the industrial and academic laboratories of the region.

The event organiser, Prof. Julien Legros, commented « Continuous flow technology is a current major trend in chemistry. We have been able to gather numerous attendees from academia and industry from fundamental research to chemical engineering in organic, inorganic and macromolecular synthesis. This meeting made a great impact on the community and put LabFact project and its stakeholders into the spotlight ».
